Preston Plains Middle School Mission Statement
The Mission of Preston Plains Middle School, the designated Middle School for the Preston Public Schools, is to foster the partnership of school, parents, and community articulated in the District Mission Statement. Specific to the needs of sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, Preston Plains Middle School is a focused and caring learning community committed to the growth and development of the whole person.
A focused and caring learning community committed to the growth and development of the whole person is accomplished by:
• Recognizing and providing for individual differences
• Creating opportunities for student and staff leadership
• Involving parents in supporting student achievement and success
• Offering a future-focused curriculum that challenges students to become critical thinkers
• Providing opportunities for the staff to collaborate and plan for curriculum and student needs
• Collaborating with the designated high school on curriculum professional training and student programs
• Recognizing the dignity and value of the contributions made by the administration, faculty and staff
• Accepting responsibility for the safety and well being of all students attending the school
• Setting expectations for student achievement and citizenship
• Providing a varied co-curricular program that addresses student interests and special talents
• Celebrating student achievement, citizenship, and special talents
• Collaborating with the district elementary schools to achieve the district mission
